Every November, when the big lakes start to turn, folks around here think about the Edmund Fitzgerald. On November 10, 1975, the big ship went down in a Lake Superior storm with all 29 men aboard. More than fifty years later, she’s still the wreck every Great Lakes kid grows up hearing about. This crewneck is our nod to her, to her crew, and to the generations of Great Lakes sailors who have worked these frigid waters.

We designed the Edmund Fitzgerald Crewneck with a hand-drawn graphic of the big laker shouldering through cold, deep water. “Built for the Great Lakes” is proudly printed across it. It’s for the folks who watch the freighters come through the ship canal, who know and respect the water, and who are proud to come from a place with this much maritime history. If you’ve ever stood on a breakwall in a November gale and felt small next to these lakes, you get it.

It’s screen-printed right here in Wisconsin on a soft 8.3 oz three-end fleece. The fleece is a ring-spun cotton and poly blend with a 100% cotton face on the solid colors, so the print stays crisp and the inside stays cozy. The rib-knit collar, cuffs, and hem hold their shape. The twill neck tape keeps the collar clean, and because it’s side-seamed, it hangs straight instead of twisting after a few washes. We also went with a tear-away label, so there’s no scratchy tag. On top of that, 1% of every sale goes toward land conservation, so our wild places stay wild.

If you're an existing customer, we've used the same garment as the Sherwood Skelton Crewneck.

The Fit
The Edmund Fitzgerald Crewneck has a classic, true-to-size (unisex/men's sizing) fit with a little room through the chest and waist. It layers easily over a tee or under a shell when the wind comes off the water. It comes in sizes. If you want a roomier, laid-back look, size up.

*Preorder today- Released on the anniversary of the Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald (Nov. 10th).
